Carved from a deep navy jade with green banding at the top and base. The blue nephrite is formed blue and over eons, from UV and water the blue transitions to green. The slabs can have blue eyes in the centre with green outer staining.
Hand sourced in Te Tau Ihu, it was found within minutes of arriving at the river - sitting at the water’s edge after a fresh flood had swept through. A clear sign. Live and direct.
The form is simple, strong, and timeless. A reminder to walk with purpose and remain open to what life brings to shore.
