Inanga Vortex
Te Tai Poutini, Aotearoa
Soft hues of green and clouded white merge gently through this Inanga drop — earthy and ethereal. Its smooth, rounded form reflects light softly, like water over stone.
A piece that carries calm clarity — like the slow movement of Te Awa.
When observing the movement of the spawning Inanga, the shoals move like a shimmer of energy. Against the current they find ease and direction — the resistance is what allows them to slip through the vortex somewhat effortlessly, moving collectively to their unknown destination.
The lesson I draw from this is to let resistance be the guide to the way forward. With every force there is an opposite vortex of flux that can be harnessed.
